The Paul Green "School of Rock" Comes to the West Coast: Santa Monica Branch Ready to Rock, Turns Kids into Rock Stars Which kid growing up in America doesn't dream of becoming a rock star? For Santa Monica's youths between the age of 7 and 18, that dream now has a name. It's called the PGSORM Santa Monica and it has arrived in town. Just like in the movie "The School of Rock", which was apparently inspired by the school and starred Jack Black, the Santa Monica branch headed by rock musician John Rusco, is promising to turn any interested kid into a performing rock musician. With its private lessons and ensemble rehearsals, Rusco believes, "that every kid is a star yearning to rock, and with our classes that culminate with a live performance in front of an audience, the wait is over."
