Digication Collaborates with the National Art Education Association Digication to Supply NAEA-branded e-Portfolios to its 20,000+ Members
Providence, RI (PRWEB) June 30, 2008 -- Digication? Inc., a leading provider of e-Portfolios, today announced that it has partnered with the National Art Education Association (NAEA), the leading professional organization for art educators, to provide its 20,000+ members with e-Portfolios. Members will be able to create a virtual teaching portfolio of student work that showcases their professional skill and career development.
The mission of the National Art Education Association (NAEA), founded in 1947, is to promote art education through professional development, service, advancement of knowledge, and leadership. In order to fulfill this mission, NAEA provides expertise, training, and resources that support professional growth and leadership, helping members affect the quality of student learning in their local schools, communities, and states.
NAEA believes that all students deserve a comprehensive, balanced and sequential program of instruction in the visual arts. Further, NAEA believes that the art curriculum should be led and taught by teachers who are certified and qualified in the visual arts and who can provide students with skills and knowledge in the arts in accordance with national, state and local standards. Art educators are encouraged to strive toward rigorous standards and efficacy in pre-service preparation, ongoing professional development, pedagogy, ethics and inquiry in the field.
"Digication e-Portfolios are a valuable addition to the resources and services that NAEA provides to its members," said Dr. Deborah B. Reeve, executive director of NAEA. "Our members will now be able to showcase their work and their students' work through e-Portfolios that further strengthens NAEA's professional learning communities and career development for teachers."
More than 1,500 schools have deployed the Digication e-Portfolio solution. Its Web-based e-Portfolios allow educators and students to share ideas and achievements, improve communication and expand the educational experience beyond the classroom. With Digication, teachers can easily archive classroom progress for future reference. Students' work can be published to the Web to be shared with other students and family members. Since Digication is easy to use, teachers and students can instantly become engaged in building an e-Portfolio and work towards college acceptance.
"We are proud of our association with NAEA, and its long history of promotion of art education through professional development, service, and leadership," said Jeffrey Yan, CEO of Digication. "Our e-Portfolio solution will augment NAEA's already distinguished collection of member services to provide its members with a way to showcase their teaching work and learning achievements of their students."
