Growing Number of Stay at Home Parents Find Success Reentering Workforce with an Online Degree from Almeda University
Boise, ID (PRWEB) June 17, 2008 -- For moms and dads who have chosen to spend their time raising children, entering the workforce after a lengthy absence can be a daunting task. The business world is ever changing and technology is consistently being updated, making it difficult for these individuals to compete with candidates with years of uninterrupted work histories. A growing number of stay at home parents are choosing Almeda University's online degree programs to stay competitive in the job market.
Richard Franklin, spokesperson for Almeda University, has recently seen an increase in the number of stay at home parents earning a university degree online using Almeda University's guide to an online education. "These students have a lot to offer the workforce," Franklin says. "As any stay at home parent knows, managing a household requires many of the same skills that employers value: organization, a high level of responsibility and attention to detail. Additionally, a great portion of these parents has spent years volunteering in the community, further developing their professional abilities. Our new guide to earning a university degree online taps into these skills to assist this segment of our student body in achieving a university degree online."
For these students, an online university degree from an online university program such as Almeda typically opens the door to many opportunities, brings greater job security and a higher salary. According to Franklin, "our online university degree programs offer the flexibility to achieve higher education while still managing current responsibilities. When the time is right to reenter the workforce, they can conduct their job search knowing they have the credentials to land the right job."
Almeda University is an online institute that has been serving the international community since its inception in 1997. Since that time, Almeda has evolved to educate an expanding population through cutting edge curriculum design based on students' needs and professional service.
