New Web-based Service Helps Students Athletes, Parents and Coachers Prepare for College

Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) June 2, 2008 -- StudAthlete (http://www.studathlete.com/) a new subscription-based site that gives student athletes tools to study their performance while raising their visibility among college recruiters, has announced its launch in greater Phoenix. The site allows athletes (http://www.studathlete.com/player-info.aspx) to measurably track their progress, coaches (http://www.studathlete.com/coaches-info.aspx) to identify areas of improvement, and parents (http://www.studathlete.com/parent-info.aspx) to evaluate the best educational options for their kids - according to the students' abilities and goals.

Juan Galán, founder and president of StudAthlete, believes that the increasing variety and rise of competitive collegiate sports teams has created a need to better inform parents and kids about their choices. Notably, student athletes need to understand where they stand on a national scale, and zero in on the colleges that best fit with their profile and passion for their sport of choice.

"As a father and former college athlete myself, I created this service to help students parlay a love of sports into a college education," Galán said. "The site is geared to all athletes and helps them determine how they compare to their peers locally and nationally. Most importantly, it helps them understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to make them a better player at their sport."

The site's extraordinary student database also allows colleges, including coaches and recruiters, to not only view athletes based on measurable statistics, but student athletes with the GPA and SAT scores that make them eligible for their institutions.

Most recently, StudAthlete announced that the ASUSC Blackhawks Soccer Club had joined the new site. One of the top soccer clubs in Arizona, ASUSC Blackhawks will track its players' progress, while each player will have access to unprecedented data on statistics, drills, study tips, and college teams.

"StudAthlete allows coaches and trainers to tailor their training to teams and also to individuals," said Mick Reavey, director of coaching for ASUSC. "We are truly excited to monitor the success of our players, and to be able to promote them to college recruiters with quantifiable data that backs up our assessment."
