NanoBioNexus Spotlights Mexico University's Formidable Innovation and Breakthrough Technologies

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 7, 2008 -- Non-profit NanoBioNexus (NBN), already widely acclaimed for its educational forums and nanobiotechnology expertise, amplifies its International Alliance Initiative with a spotlight event on the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) to be held March 13, 2008 at the offices of Fish & Richardson in San Diego, Ca. The spotlight event will focus on UNAM's debut of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center headquartered in Ensenada, Mexico.

UNAM boast a student population of over 300,000 and over 30,000 research, faculty and staff. With a total of 29 research centers, ample natural and human resources, the amount of innovative technologies makes UNAM an internationally competitive force. Already recognized as the university with a high concentration of researchers and ambitious projects, UNAM leads the effort in the synthesis, characterization, theory and simulation as well as applications using nanostructured materials.

Distinguished speakers include Dr. Carlos Aramburo de la Hoz, head of UNAM's 29 research centers, Dr. Sergio Fuentes, Director of the Center for Condensed Matter (CCMC) and Dr. Nina Bogdanchikova, Principal Investigator. "We are honored to host the top leaders and nanotechnology research experts from UNAM" said Adriana Vela, Founder and Chair of the team of NBN scientists and business professionals. "As the international leaders in building nanotech communities, our efforts help bring worlds together and foster collaborations for the advancement of novel applications" said Vela.

The focus on Mexico echoes Vela's recent trip to South Sweden and activities with the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce where she now serves on the Advisory Board of the Life Sciences cluster for the successful Entrepreneurial Days Conference coming soon April 7-9 (see www.sacc-usa.org for details). Fostering education and collaboration abroad is fundamental to the International Alliance Initiative and NBN's global outreach goal.
