Quantum Integrations Announces Launch of FacultySource - A Niche Job Search Website Specifically for Postsecondary Education

Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 19, 2008 -- Quantum Integrations, a leader in custom curriculum development for postsecondary education, recently announced the launch of FacultySource. This niche job search website is unique in the online recruitment arena in that it is designed specifically for postsecondary schools and training organizations, especially the private, for profit or career college sector. In order to meet the accreditation needs of college clients, qualified instructor candidates must have real world experience in their teaching area and document that they have been trained to teach. They must also successfully complete FacultySource's student retention seminar that emphasizes the essential instructor behaviors that lead to high student retention in school. If a potential instructor lacks teacher training, for a small fee, FacultySource offers eighteen online teacher training courses for new and seasoned instructors.

There is a significant shortage of qualified college instructors in many industry areas. Nursing, construction management, computer programming and networking areas, accounting and finance, and high-end technical allied health specialties are all realizing instructor shortages in the programs training the next generation of workers. In some cases, programs are being closed and new students are being turned away because there are not enough instructors to teach the courses in colleges around the country. These shortages are having and will continue to have long term effects on the trained workforce in the respective industries.

FacultySource actively recruits industry professionals from high need areas recognizing that there is a wealth of expertise in both working and retired professionals that is sorely needed in college classrooms. Students need to learn from professionals with current and real world experience so that they can effectively solve real world problems when they graduate.

When professionals register with FacultySource, they must go through a simple qualification process in order to be approved as an instructor candidate. They must have a minimum number of years of work experience in their field as well as have significant adult teaching experience or documented adult teacher training. Potential instructors must also complete a short student retention seminar designed to make them aware of the importance of helping students succeed in their classrooms and to explain proven strategies for doing so. FacultySource offers 18 basic and advanced online teacher training seminars for professionals who need training. These are accessed directly through the FacultySource site for a nominal fee. If desired, instructor candidates, as well as currently teaching instructors, can participate in the FacultySource Instructor Certification Program that documents instructor skill acquisition and advancement.

"Our goal with FacultySource is to ensure that our school and training organization clients see only instructor candidates who already meet the minimum standards to be an instructor. This saves time and resources that can be better used for direct student care." said Terry Taylor, President of Quantum Integrations. "We cannot guarantee that the instructor candidates will be hired, but we can assure that they meet the minimal standards typically required by colleges, especially those schools in the career college sector."

Number One On Your College Wish List; The Dorm Bunk Bed
For most young people, the college dorm is essentially their first place that's all to themselves, well, with the usual exception of a roommate or two. I've come up with a list of 7 items that will make your stay much more comfortable.1) The dorm bunk bed, or loft bunk bed. Most dorm rooms are already furnished with very basic furniture, a desk and a chair. Changing your room into more comfortable living quarters will also improve your quality of study. A dorm bunk bed will raise your bed to allow usable and valuable floor space to be utilized to the fullest.
