Teaching in Classrooms and Beyond

Philadelphia, PA (PRWeb) January 11, 2007 -- Drexel University Online (http://www.drexel.com) announces the launch of a Master of Science in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Degree. Drexel Online is a pioneer in Internet-based education programs and winner of the 2006 21st Century Best Practice Award for Distance Learning from the United States Distance Learning Association.

The new online program will provide options for educators to expand their professional teaching-knowledge base outside of mainstream classrooms. "The goal of this program is to provide students with knowledge related to effective instruction in a variety of educational settings," said Dr. William Lynch, director of the Drexel's School of Education, which is ranked among "America's Best Graduate Schools 2007" by U.S.News & World Report.

Students can customize their academic concentration based on their interests and professional needs. "Like students on campus, online students in the Teaching, Learning and Curriculum program will also have the opportunity to select from areas including educational leadership, international education, instructional technology, and higher education," said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, academic director of Drexel Online.

Graduates of the Teaching, Learning and Curriculum master's degree program will be qualified for positions such as a curriculum director, educational consultant, grant writer, and academic advisor within governmental and or non-profit agencies.

All online programs are developed and taught by Drexel's nationally recognized faculty as the on-campus courses. Similar to Drexel's other online degree programs, the MS in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum is fully-accredited, offered entirely online, and is intended for working professionals. Students will have 24/7 online access to class materials, group discussion, instructor feedback and exams.

Applications for Drexel's online Master of Science in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum are now being accepted. New students can be admitted to the program four times per year in September, January, March, and June. Online class space is limited. Applicants are encouraged to apply early to ensure availability on their preferred start date. For more information about this online program, visit www.Drexel.com, or call (877) 215-0009.
