Nina Rees, Former U.S. Education Official and Current Knowledge Learning Executive, Available to Comment on NCLB 5 Year Anniversary

Washington, DC (PRWeb) January 5, 2007 -- Monday January 8, 2007, marks the five year anniversary of the historic No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, making this an ideal time for the media to examine its impact to date on K-12 education in the U.S. This important story is particularly relevant now, not only because of its anniversary, but because of its impending re-authorization by the new, Democrat-controlled Congress. The fate of NCLB, arguably the Bush Administration's sole domestic policy success, is a bit unclear.

Nina Rees, the former Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Improvement at the USDOE (which directs NCLB's free tutoring and school choice initiatives), is available to provide expert NCLB commentary and insights to media filing anniversary stories. Ms. Rees, a member of the core Bush Administration group that originally crafted NCLB, now serves as SVP for Strategic Initiatives for Knowledge Learning Corporation School Partnerships, the parent company of Education Station, the nation's largest provider of NCLB SES programs. Ms. Rees knows the in's and out's of NLCB -- not just from a policy standpoint, but also in terms of real world implementation in the schools. She can also discuss current activities around the re-authorization of the law.

Among the NCLB topics Ms. Rees can address:

- What impact has NCLB had on the American education system?
- Is NCLB working? What does student achievement data tell us?
- Are the bill's historic parental choice provisions -- school transfer option and free tutoring programs -- working?
- What are NCLB's likely re-authorization prospects?
- What role can public-private partnerships play in our schools and how NCLB can help build such partnerships?

Ms. Rees is available for media interviews this week and would look forward to speaking with you. Please contact us at your convenience to schedule your interview.
